Here "selling" refers to not only selling your product or service, but also selling an idea, making a proposal and convincing someone of something they should do. Sure, you want to show how your product is superior to what your prospective client has purchased. However it will likely be counter-productive to keep harping on how poor her choice had been.
Talk about problems she has and how you may be able to help. Talk about what's possible with your product. If you focus too much on her past (poor) choice, you may only alienate her and put her on the defensive.
